HEY STYLIST ARE YOU SET READY?

Hey everyone!
This post is dedicated to all the upcoming wardrobe stylist out there that needs/wants a couple tips/pointers on what to have on set that will get you hired & not fired!

When working on set whether its on a photo-shoot, a sitcom, or etc. you will need to be ready for anything, and to stay prepared you should always have a set bag with the following items:

1. Your SET BAG is a very important tool that will allow you to have everything that you need in one place. There are several different types of set bags that would be beneficial on set.
The first one is more of a tote that is easy to throw over your shoulder.
The second one is a see thru bag with handles. I like this style of bag because its easy to grab and also easy to see your tools. The little compartments are great for small items like safety pins, tap, buttons etc.
The last bag is a fanny pack. This is one of my favorite bags to use on set because its right on your hip, but doesn't get in the way/ Plus you don't have to worry about carrying a tote around, or worry about where you last left your set back. I actually recommend that you have both a fanny pack and a tote style bag or a carrier bag with handles.

Now what should go inside these bags?? Great question. Listed below are a few items that are a necessity while working on set.

1. Safety pins- For when you don't have time to sew something, last minute pin ups etc.

2. A Lint Brush- For hairs, makeup powder, dust, dirt, etc. keep extra refills close by

 3. Double Stick Tape- Can be used for flapping collars, belts, to quickly cuff pants, etc.

4. Shout wipes/ Baby wipes- For any makeup spills, coffee stains, anything that can stain the model's/actress clothing

5. Static Guard- There's nothing worst than a clingy person...let alone a clingy dress or shirt!

6. Pre- Threaded Sewing Kit- Have plenty of these just in case you might need to sew a button on last minute !!

7. Makeup Sponge- Essential for wiping off makeup and any other stains without having to wait for the spot to dry

 8. A small pair of scissors- To cut loose threads, to cut thread after quick sewing etc

9. Super Glue- No introduction needed right?

10. A Small First Aid Kit-Because you never know

11. Gum- You're clients will love you...trust

I hope this post will help you guys get an idea of what your set kit should look like. Keep these tools ready and prepared, and your employer will cheer !!! xoxo Styling Snazz

Is North West Vogue Ready?

What's new with Kanye & Kim K besides Kanye's controversial album titled YEEZUS, with tracks titled "Black Skinhead, I Am A God, and Blood On The Leaves?" YEEZUS is old news for now, instead their daughter North West is grabbing the attention of the world. It's been two months now since their daughter North West was born, and still there is not one picture that has been leaked.

Rumors through the grape vine are stating that Kanye West wants North West's picture only to be on the covers of VOGUE magazine.

A source from Radar Online stated:

Kanye is determined to make sure baby North isn’t photographed by paparazzi then splashed across the world. He knows what he wants–a professional photographer and the cover of Vogue–nothing else. But clearly, trying to persuade Anna is going to be an uphill battle.

Kanye is not wasting anytime! He has already reached out to Annie Leibovitz and Mario Testino.

Anna Wintour's reaction? -  “non-pulsed” (so, dead?) and “less than enthusiastic.”

With that reaction from the editor-in-chief of American Vogue, a position she has held since 1988, I don't think we'll be seeing much of North West...at least not on VOGUE!!

P.S. Kanye has recently spent thousands of dollars on an armoured car to protect Kim & their new baby, but could it really be used to protect the baby from paparazzi's??!!

Purse of the Week

Every week I will do a special post dedicated to various purses and handbags. I will take submissions (stylewithsnazzy@gmail.com) & I will do both men & women handbags/purses.

I found this little special number at Sony Costumes in Culver City. I was on a wardrobe mission where I had to look for dresses that resembled what Mae West, Marilyn Monroe, and Lucy (I love Lucy) would wear. After looking for more than an hour I decided to take a break & browse their purse collection. In the midst of looking I saw this amazing purse lying in the corner covered in dust. I could see the potential from afar, I hope you guys enjoy this one.

Unfortunately it didn't have a label inside so if you know of a purse similar or the same one let me know!! xoxo Styling Snazz

Snazzy On Set

I was blessed with the opportunity to work on two sitcoms called: Mr. Box Office & The First Family (both shows come on CentricTv)

Some of my duties include helping style the different cast members (some including Bill Bellamy, Vivica Fox, John Lovitz, Kelita Smith, John Witherspoon "Pops" & Christopher B. Duncan!) Prep clothes (steam the clothes, lint roll them, and etc.), take clothes out to the actors trailers, go on shopping runs, pick up clothes from wardrobe houses like Sony Costumes, Warner Bros Costumes, and etc.

Here's some different looks that the wardrobe department had to come up with:
Tom Arnold & John Witherspoon dressed as burglars!! Such a funny episode.

Our fabulous seamstress made this whole costume/outfit to camouflage Khlyin Rhambo

We had to dress the ladies for a Pageant Episode!!

Layla Crawford and Sade Kimora Young

Layla & Jackee Harry were twins!! (Custom dresses for the twins)

That's just a couple episodes!! Stay tune for more fun & flashy outfits !! xoxo Styling Snazz :-*
